Powerpoints

Enable presentation of Powerpoints within your custom courses.

What the Powerpoint Viewer does

The Powerpoint Viewer lets you upload a PowerPoint (.pptx) into a training page so learners can:

  • View slides directly in the course page

  • Move slide-by-slide with Previous/Next controls

  • Use fullscreen mode for easier reading

  • Download the presentation file

As an admin, you can also control learner-facing display settings (for example, display name and minimum time per slide).

Add a Powerpoint Viewer to a page

  1. Open your training in Edit mode.

  2. Add a PPTX block from:

    • the slash menu (/) and select PPTX, or

    • the media/design panel and select PowerPoint.

  3. Upload a .pptx file.

  4. Wait for the presentation to render, then preview the page.

Configure Powerpoint settings

Open the Powerpoint block actions and click the Settings icon.

Learner-facing name

  • Set a friendly name learners should see.

  • This name is also used as the preferred downloaded file name.

  • Leave blank to use the uploaded file name.

Minimum time per slide (optional)

  • Turn on Require minimum time per slide.

  • Enter the number of seconds.

  • In learner mode, Next slide is blocked until the timer completes.

  • In edit mode, slide navigation is not restricted by this timer.

Other admin actions

  • Replace presentation: upload a new .pptx for the same block.

  • Download presentation: export the current file.

  • Delete presentation: remove the block/file from the page.

  • Drag and reorder: move the PPTX block to a different position in the page layout.

Learner experience notes

  • Learners can navigate slides using on-screen controls.

  • Learners can download the presentation.

Light limitations

  • Supported file type is .pptx only.

  • Some advanced PowerPoint effects (complex animations, transitions, embedded media behaviors) may render differently in-browser than in desktop PowerPoint.

  • Very large decks can take longer to load.

Use this quick checklist before publishing:

  • Open the PPTX in preview/learner view and click through a few slides.

  • Make sure the rendered styles match what you are looking for, since not all PowerPoint features (like animations) are supported.

Quick troubleshooting

  • Blank/white viewer: refresh once, then re-upload if needed.

  • File rejected: confirm it is a valid .pptx and within your org file size limit.

  • Styles look different: try modifying in your powerpoint editor and re-uploading..
