# Restricted Authors of Course

When you create a course it is editable by the author and any other admin within your organization. If you want to limit the set of authors for a particular course, you can do this through the course settings experience.

To begin, open up the course settings via the course action button in the editor.

There are three available author restrictions.

### Restriction: Any Admin

Any admin with the organization has the ability to edit this course. This is the default option.

### Restriction: Only Course Author

Only the course author who created the course can be the editor. No other admins in the organization can edit this course.

### Restriction: Course Author and Others

In this setting, you can select 1 or more other authors in addition to the course author to be editors.

You select the additional editors and then save the changes. Now if anyone else from your organization who is not on the approved editor list attempts to open the course, they will see a dialog letting them know they do not have permissions.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.itsaffinity.com/product-guides/lms-authoring/restricted-authors-of-course.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
