# Requirement Override

The requirement status of an individual learner assignment can be overridden. By default the requirement status is that of the training instance assignment. However, you may change it on a learner by learner basis.  Once a learner has their requirement overridden, that is the default state for that learner. Thus, no global changes would take effect going forward.
